The school year is almost over, but we are already getting excited about next year's theater opportunities! Next year the SJHS drama department will be putting on ELF the Musical and Puffs. If you are interested in auditioning for ELF the musical, start thinking about it now so that you are ready to go this August!
9th grade is out of this world!! On April 15th, our Earth and Space science students went on a field trip to the Clark Planetarium with Ms. Collette, and Mr. Jensen. The students were able to explore the Planetarium and then watched two movies about black holes and outer space!!! It was lots of fun and a great opportunity for the students!

Summer break is coming soon! Each summer the Utah Food Bank continues to provide free meals to youth 18 and under in our community. These meals will be available starting June 1st-August 7. The lunch serving hours are from 12:30-1:30 at the Springville Splash Pad/Library (which are right across the street from each other). Any child under the age of 18 is invited to come and get a lunch, but must eat it on site.

On Friday, our 9th grade health students took what they have learned about healthy living and put it into action! They hiked to Stewart Falls and practiced an active lifestyle in the best way! Thanks Mr. Hammon for organizing this fun field trip and helping our students get outside.

This month we are focusing on Wellness in our Quest Time lesson. Keep the conversation going at home. Ask your student what they talked about today in Quest!
Ms. Ottley, Ms. Jensen, Ms. Hylton, and Mr. Lindquist's classes are currently studying immigration. They went to the BYU Art Museum last week to view exhibits by different artists, including one featuring immigrant artist, Mimi Chen Ting. Students also had the opportunity to create their own abstract art piece.

Our SJHS Track and Field team are halfway through their season and doing awesome! We've seen lots of personal records set and have competed well against Salem, Mapleton, and Spanish Fork so far. Next week their track meet is Friday at Payson High School at 1pm. Come cheer us on! Go Knights!
Yesterday the English Department hosted the SJHS Poetry Slam! Congratulations to Brooke Engle who will be advancing to districts! Laicy Alfred and Luke Maynard were our runners up. Well done everyone!

Springville Junior High School teacher Julie Smith has been selected as a delegate to the national We the Teachers: Preparing the Next Generation Through History & Civics fellowship at William & Mary. Smith is among 100 educators from all 50 states who will attend the 2026 Congress of Educators in Virginia’s Historic Triangle, focusing on evidence-based history and civics instruction. She will return equipped with new resources and strategies to benefit students and fellow educators in our school community!
